Original black cloth binding with gilt title on spine and cover. [7] 8-188 p.p., plus [4] p.p. ads. Some rubing to edges, pencil markings and light foxing. Early ownership inscription on front free endpaper, with bookplate of John Alfred Spranger, Trinity College Cambridge on front pastedown. Small written label, 'Corridor S.2'. Otherwise near fine. Mary Arnold-Foster (1861-1951) was the wife of British politician Hugh Oakley Arnold Foster, who served as Secretary of State for War in 1903-5. Their eldest son, William (1886-1951), an artist, writer, and labour politician, was married to Katherine "Ka" Laird Cox (1887-1938) in 1918 and was the former lover of 1st World War poet Rupert Brooke (1887-1915). Studies in Dreams is dedicated to "Ka"
