8vo. Quarter bound in vellum on marbled boards. Title in gilt on spine label. In two volumes. Vol. 1: viii, 556 p.p.; Vol. 2: 622 p.p. Rubbing and wear to spine and labels, with two large tears to front marbled boards, bumped edges, and light foxing to vols. 1&2, but still a nice set in good condition. Paul Gabriel Antoine (1678-1743) was a French Jesuit theologian. Theologia Universa established him as a leading catholic scholar, followed by his even more succesful Theologia Universa Moralis, first published in Nancy in 1726, and a Roman edition in 1747 was published with several more additions, which was used widely among both clergy and college students.
