Original vellum binding with yapp edges. Title in decorative red lettering stamped sideways on front board. Illustration of cross stamped on rear with the word 'transubstantiation'. 164 p.p. Inscription on front flyleaf to Richard Schell Esq., [1810-1879], a politician and lobbyist who served on the New York State Senate, and United States House of Representatives signed "with regards from the translator. New York 255 5 Ave, Dec. 14, 1868." Binders ticket of Edmonds & Remnants, to bottom of rear pastedown. White label with initial 'M' and no. '346' to front pastedown. Boards soiled, spotted stains to vellum and yellowed stain to center of p.p. 48-9. Some light staining to edges of endpapers, otherwise interior clean and in very good condition.
