Paper label to spine and front board. 62 p.p., [1]. Inscription by Wallace Rice in pencil on title page to Leroy T. Goble. Colour frontis of two clowns. Light offsetting to title page. Small chips to spine ends chipped with loss. Upper front joint slightly cracked but inner hinges sound. Some white scuffs to boards. Light wear to edges, extremities. Slight bruise to bottom corners. Bookplate of The Gobles on front pastedown endpaper. Notes and underlined passages in pencil throughout, and the initials 'w.r.' Else in very good condition. Wallace Rice [1859-1939] was an American writer and poet who was born in Hamilton, Ontario. He collaborated with his sister, Frances Rice, to publish this anthology of Bohemian verse, which features poems by Beaudelaire, Swinburne, Byron, Keats, and, of course, some verses written by Rice himself. The book deals with the romantic notion of Bohemia in the literary imagination.
