Alicia Little [1845-1926] campaigned for women's rights in Britain and advocated against the practice of foot binding in China. Li Hung-Chang [1823-1901] was a Chinese politician towards the end of the Qing Dynasty. Little covers Li Hung-Chang's personal and political life, including his experiences as a diplomat, the Taipang Rebellion, and the Japanese War. Light rubbing to boards. Slight bruising at spine-ends. Small ownership stamp of Chippens Bank to front pastedown and head of title-page. Light foxing to edges and interior pages. Inner hinge cracked on p. 161, else a very good copy. Scarce.
