Edward Nares [1762-1841] was an English historian and author. He was a professor of modern history at Merton College, Oxford. In Heraldric Anomalies, Nares discusses various titles of honour and nobility, lords and ladies, esquires and gentleman, and others. Light wear to boards and outer edges. Small stain to top-edge of first volume. Ownership signature in both volumes on front fly-leaf and front free endpaper. Pages and endpapers lightly foxed. Some sporadic smudges.
