First written in 1596. Printed for the first time from a manuscript in the Chetham Library, Manchester. xxxvi, 75 p.p. Beige card wraps with blind tooling and black titling to spine, yapp edges. Some sunning to wraps. Roughly cut edges, with some uncut. Foxing throughout. A treatise advocating compulsory military training for all Englishmen. The author's uncle, Sir Edmund Knyvett, was a Sargeant-Porter to King Henry VIII, and his brother Thomas, Lord Knyvett of Esrick, took a prominent part in the exposure of the Gunpowder Plot.
