Illustrated dust jacket has smal bump to front joint, rubbing at front joint, short tears to spine tail and head of rear cover, bumping to spine ends. An exploration of the artwork of Johann Moritz (Joao Mauricio) Rugendas, the German artist who was a "tropical romanticist" painter who spent a great deal of time painting in 19th century Brazil and elsewhere in the Americas.
