Quarter-cloth with morocco spine, blind tooled boards with CATS in gilt to spine and upper boards, [10], xv, [4], 946, [23] pp; xv, 893, [18] pp.898 pp., illustrated with over 400 steel plates by J.W. Kaiser, including [15] full page plates. Light foxing and staining to leaves, hinges reinforced with archival tape, joints starting at head and foot; boards sunned, faded with some soiling, corners and edges worn (a small patch of wear to upper front board of volume one) otherwise a very good copy set of the collected writings of Dutch poet and fable writer Jacob Cats.
