Revised edition. xiv, [2], 293 p.p., [3 B&W plates]. Blue cloth boards with gilt titling to spine. Spine and top and tail edges sunned, spine ends bumped, light chafing to tail edges of boards and wear to corner of front board at tail. Dust jacket stained and darkened at spine, bumped and worn at extremities, chafing and spots of wear to covers. The original edition of this book (1936) was in large part destroyed by the worst fire of the Blitz in London and it has long been unobtainable though widely sought after. The present edition contains a supplement adding the significant items of bibliography which have appeared since the first printing and varius other notes.
