Loeb Classical Library No. 244. Greek and English. Green cloth boards, gilt lettering to spine and LCL monogram to front board. xxvi, 707 p.p. Minor chafing to rear of dust jacket, else a fine copy. Lysias (ca. 458 BC-ca.380 BC), was a Greek politician and orator. His surviving speeches (about thrity complete out of a very much larger number) are fluent, simple and graceful in style, yet vivid in description. We see in him the art of oratory young and fresh.
