The Greystone Panorama Books. Grey paper boards. Top edge speckled. 16 pp., 48 numbered B&W plates (double-sided). Colour frontis. A few bumps and damp stains to boards. Bookplate of C.B. Farrar to front pastedown. Dust jacket bumped to top edges, some light rubbing to extremities, short tears at spine head repaired with tape, short tear to foot of front joint. A few articles and pamphlets laid in. The Bible was a mine of dramatic subjects to Rembrandt. Altogether he made over 500 drawings and etchings with biblical subjects. The great majority of these are unknown to the public. This book contains 48 reproductions and introduces you to Rembrandt's particular heroes and favourite stories to which again and again the Dutch master returned.
