Full blue cloth, Mountie vignette to front board. 398 pp., [16 pp.] B&W plates of photos. Some damp staining to boards, rubbing of colour to reverse of dust jacket. Dust jacket is creased and worn to extremities, a few small chips and short tears (some repaired with tape), some scuffing to rear. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have an international reputation which is almost legendary. The story of the men who have served in this unique police force resembles the hero stories of long ago in its accounts of feats of great daring, endurance, and heroism. From the opening chapter, which describes the formation of the force, to the last, in which the latest accomplishments of the modern mobile force are described, there is not a dull page.
