Porridge and Old Clothes is about a bunch of Scots -- the lowland variety -- who managed to settle west of Brandon, Manitoba, in the early 1880s. Thanks to the discovery of some family diaries and the keen interested of one of their descendants, we have a particularly lively addition to the history of Western Canada.
