Bookplate on front pastedown, orig. jacket spine strip laid-in, a small strip of whiteout on ff/ep, as well as owner name stamps on top and bottom edges of textblock; some light scuffs to boards, else very good. A Swiss Biologist who worked in animal behaviour, Heini Hediger (30 November 1908 - 29 August 1992) he is known as the founding father of 'zoo biology.' He outlined the four critical tasks for Zoos in the 1940s, namely recreation, conservation, education and research.
